Security Updates –

• NERC has released draft 3 of the CIP Cyber Security Standards for comment until June 23. Go to: http://www.nerc.com/~filez/standards/Cyber-Security-Permanent.html
• NERC approves two new Security Guidelines for Control Systems on May 3, 2005. The guidelines for Patch Management and Business Network Electronic Connectivity are available at: http://www.esisac.com
• NERC webcast to discuss CIP 002-009 Draft 3 on Wednesday, June 1 at 11:00 EDT: http://nerc.webex.com
• RUS – If you use Rural Utilities Service, your Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (VRA) certification letter must be filed by July 12, 2005. The Emergency Restoration Plan (ERP) certification letter must be filed by January 12, 2006 and exercised by January 12, 2007. Sample of self-certification letter is available, just call or email.
